Swimuini, Lodges, Gonarezhou National Park, Zimbabwe

Another day of driving. It was 150 miles of bad pavement and occasional police roadblocks followed by 60 miles of bumpy dirt road to get back in here and it's pretty empty. The only people we've seen are park workers – no visitors. We didn't see any animals on the way in.

It's sort of scenic, but very run down. The shower doesn't work and there's no hot water. The stove has no oven door but the burners work,
